Overview
Medabon Kit is a prescription-only combination pack used for the medical termination of an early pregnancy, under the supervision of a doctor and in line with Kenyan law and Pharmacy and Poisons Board regulations. It contains one mifepristone tablet, which blocks the hormone progesterone needed to continue a pregnancy, and misoprostol tablets, which cause the uterus to contract and empty. It must only be used on the advice of, and under monitoring by, a qualified healthcare provider following appropriate assessment. A regulated medicine that requires professional medical guidance.
Directions for Use
This medicine requires a prescription and must be used strictly under the supervision of a qualified healthcare provider. Use only as directed by your doctor.
Prescription-only and must be used under medical supervision. It must not be used in a suspected or confirmed ectopic (tubal) pregnancy, with an intrauterine device in place, in chronic adrenal failure, certain bleeding disorders or known allergy to the ingredients. Seek urgent medical care for heavy bleeding (soaking two pads per hour for two hours), severe pain, fever or signs of infection. A follow-up review is essential to confirm completion.
