Rhinathiol Adult Syrup contains carbocisteine, a mucolytic that makes a chesty cough more productive and easier to clear. It works by thinning and loosening the thick, sticky mucus in the airways, so that phlegm can be coughed up more easily. This helps relieve a congested, chesty cough associated with colds, bronchitis and other chest conditions. The smooth syrup is a convenient option for adults seeking relief from a wet, mucus-laden cough, helping the chest feel clearer and breathing feel more comfortable.

Active ingredient: Carbocisteine (commonly 250 mg per 5 ml in adult syrup).

Directions for Use

Shake the bottle before use. Take the adult dose using the measuring cup or spoon provided. Commonly one dose three times a day, or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. It can be taken with or without water. Use for short-term relief of a chesty cough; if the cough lasts more than a few days, worsens, or is accompanied by high fever, breathlessness or coloured/bloody phlegm, seek medical advice. Do not exceed the stated dose.

Not suitable for people with an active stomach or duodenal ulcer. Use with caution if you have a history of peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding. Do not combine with cough suppressants, which work against a mucolytic by stopping you clearing the loosened mucus. Tell your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding before use, and mention any other medicines or conditions. May occasionally cause stomach upset or, rarely, skin reactions.
