Overview
Rizact 10mg Tablets from Cipla contain rizatriptan, a fast-acting triptan medicine used to treat migraine attacks once they have started. Rizatriptan works by narrowing the swollen blood vessels around the brain and blocking pain signals, relieving the throbbing headache, nausea and sensitivity to light and sound of a migraine. Often within 30 minutes to 2 hours. It is not a preventive medicine; it is taken at the time of an attack. For people who suffer disabling migraines, Rizact offers dependable attack relief in a small 4-tablet pack to keep on hand.
Rizatriptan (as rizatriptan benzoate) 10mg per tablet.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one 10mg tablet with water as soon as the migraine headache begins. If the migraine returns after initial relief, a second dose may be taken after at least 2 hours. Do not exceed two doses (20mg) in 24 hours. Do not take a second dose for the same attack if the first gave no relief; speak to your doctor instead. Not for use to prevent migraines.
Do not use if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease, previous heart attack or stroke, or circulation problems. Do not use with other triptans, ergotamine medicines, or within 2 weeks of MAOI antidepressants. Tell your doctor if you take SSRIs/SNRIs. Combining can rarely cause serotonin syndrome (agitation, sweating, fast heartbeat). May cause drowsiness or dizziness. Avoid driving until you know its effect. Frequent use of migraine medicines can itself cause headaches. See your doctor if attacks are frequent. Not recommended in pregnancy unless advised. Store below 30°C.
