Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one 10mg tablet once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food. Continue your low-fat diet and exercise plan; the tablet complements, not replaces, lifestyle change. Attend periodic cholesterol and liver tests. Do not stop without medical advice. Cholesterol rises again when statins stop.

Do not use in pregnancy, when planning pregnancy, or while breastfeeding. Avoid in active liver disease and heavy alcohol use. Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness promptly. Rare but serious muscle injury can occur, with higher risk when combined with fibrates or certain antibiotics. Caution in kidney impairment, hypothyroidism and diabetes (small blood sugar effect).
