Overview
Saferon Syrup is a liquid iron supplement used to prevent and treat iron-deficiency anaemia in children and adults who prefer or need a syrup over tablets. Iron supports haemoglobin production and healthy oxygen transport, fighting the tiredness, weakness, poor appetite and reduced concentration that anaemia causes. A particularly important issue for growing children, menstruating women and pregnant mothers . The pleasant-tasting syrup with measured dosing makes it easy to give children the right amount, and gentler iron complexes reduce the stomach upset of older iron salts.

Directions for Use
Shake well before use. Give the dose stated on the packaging or prescribed by your doctor. Dosing is usually based on age or body weight. Using the measuring cup or syringe provided. Iron absorbs best between meals with water or juice, but can be given with food if it causes stomach upset. Avoid giving with milk or tea, which block absorption. Continue for the period advised; restoring iron stores typically takes 2-3 months.
Iron preparations are a leading cause of accidental poisoning in young children. Keep strictly out of reach and never call medicine "sweets". May cause dark stools (harmless), temporary teeth staining (brush after dosing or use a straw), constipation or mild stomach upset. Separate from antacids, calcium and certain antibiotics by at least 2 hours. Unexplained anaemia should always be medically investigated. Confirm composition and dosing on the packaging.
