Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Dosage is determined by your prescribing doctor based on your individual needs. Do not adjust your dose without medical supervision. Given as a once-weekly injection under the skin (abdomen, thigh or upper arm), on the same day each week, with the dose increased gradually by your doctor to limit side effects. Follow your prescriber's titration schedule and the pen's injection-technique training exactly. Rotate injection sites. This medicine is used under close medical supervision. This medicine is administered under specialist medical supervision only.
Nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea are common when starting or increasing the dose and usually settle. Smaller meals help; maintain hydration. Stop and seek urgent care for severe persistent abdominal pain radiating to the back (possible pancreatitis). Tell your doctor about a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2 (in which it must not be used), gallbladder disease, kidney problems and diabetic eye disease. Hypoglycaemia risk rises when combined with sulfonylureas or insulin. Not for type 1 diabetes. Not used in pregnancy. Discuss planning.
