Overview

Seretide Evohaler 25/50 is a metered-dose inhaler from GSK that delivers two medicines in one puff. Salmeterol 25mcg (a long-acting bronchodilator that opens the airways) and fluticasone propionate 50mcg (an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces inflammation). It is a prescription preventer inhaler used for the regular, ongoing treatment of asthma, helping to keep the airways open and prevent symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, chest tightness and breathlessness. This 120-dose inhaler is intended for daily asthma control, not for relieving a sudden asthma attack.

Salmeterol (as xinafoate) 25mcg and Fluticasone propionate 50mcg per actuation.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Shake well before each use. Breathe out gently, place the mouthpiece between your lips, then press the canister while breathing in slowly and deeply. Hold your breath for about 10 seconds. The number of puffs and timing are set by your doctor. Rinse your mouth with water after use to help prevent oral thrush. This is a preventer. Always keep a separate reliever inhaler for sudden symptoms.

Seretide is not for relieving a sudden asthma attack. Always carry your reliever inhaler. Do not stop using it suddenly without medical advice. Tell your doctor if you have heart problems, an overactive thyroid, diabetes or tuberculosis. Rinsing your mouth after each dose lowers the risk of throat irritation and oral thrush. Seek urgent help if your breathing worsens or your reliever is needed more often than usual. Store below 30°C; do not puncture or burn the canister, even when empty.
