Overview

Sinemet CR 50/200mg Tablets (60 pack) are a controlled-release treatment for Parkinson's disease. Each tablet combines levodopa 200mg, which the brain converts into dopamine to ease the tremor, stiffness and slowness of movement caused by Parkinson's, with carbidopa 50mg, which stops levodopa being broken down before it reaches the brain. Boosting its effect and reducing nausea. The CR (controlled-release) design releases the medicine slowly for smoother, longer symptom control. Helping patients with Parkinson's move more freely throughout the day.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. The dose and timing are tailored to you and built up gradually. Swallow controlled-release tablets whole, or break only along the score line if advised; do not crush or chew. Keep to a regular schedule, often spaced through the day. A high-protein meal can reduce absorption. Do not stop suddenly. The dose must be reduced under medical guidance.

Do not stop abruptly (risk of a serious withdrawal reaction). May cause dizziness on standing, nausea, involuntary movements, and sometimes sudden sleepiness or impulse-control changes (e.g. gambling, compulsive behaviour). Report these to your doctor. Use caution with heart disease, glaucoma, psychiatric illness, and a history of melanoma. May darken urine or sweat harmlessly. Avoid MAOI antidepressants. Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding only on medical advice. Store below 30°C protected from light and moisture.
