Tacrovate Forte Ointment 0.1% (10g) contains tacrolimus, a topical immunomodulator that calms inflamed skin without using steroids. The 0.1% 'Forte' strength is the higher concentration, prescribed for moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults, especially on areas where long-term steroid use is best avoided. Tacrolimus quietens the overactive immune cells in the skin that drive the redness, itching and flare-ups of eczema. A valuable steroid-free option for adults managing stubborn or sensitive-area eczema under a doctor's care.

Active: Tacrolimus 0.1% (as tacrolimus monohydrate) per gram. Ointment base of paraffins.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. Usually a thin layer applied to the affected skin twice daily during flare-ups, then reduced as the skin improves. Wash and dry your hands before and after applying (unless treating the hands). Apply only to eczema-affected areas, not healthy skin, and do not cover with airtight dressings. Use sun protection on treated skin.

For external use only. Avoid the eyes and inside the mouth or nose. A warm or burning sensation when first applied is common and usually settles. Avoid strong sunlight and sunlamps on treated skin, and do not use on infected or broken skin. Limit alcohol, which can cause facial flushing during treatment. The 0.1% strength is for adults; tell your doctor if eczema does not improve. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice. Store below 25°C.
