Overview
Teltas 40mg Tablets (30 pack) contain telmisartan, an angiotensin-receptor blocker (ARB) used to treat high blood pressure and protect the heart and kidneys. Telmisartan blocks a natural hormone that tightens blood vessels, letting them relax and widen so blood pressure falls and the heart's workload eases. Its long duration gives steady, 24-hour control, including the early-morning period when blood pressure tends to rise. The 40mg strength is a common dose. A trusted, once-daily option helping people manage hypertension and lower their long-term risk of stroke and heart disease.
Active: Telmisartan 40mg per tablet.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily, with or without food, swallowed with water at the same time each day. Keep taking it even when you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms. Do not stop without advice, and attend regular blood-pressure, kidney and potassium checks so the dose can be adjusted.
Do not use in pregnancy. ARBs can harm the unborn baby; tell your doctor at once if you become or plan to become pregnant. May cause dizziness, especially at first or on standing. Rise slowly. Can raise blood potassium and affect the kidneys; tell your doctor about kidney problems, dehydration, potassium supplements or water tablets. Store below 30°C.
