Overview

Tritace 2.5mg Tablets (28 pack) contain ramipril, an ACE inhibitor used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure and to protect the heart and kidneys. Ramipril relaxes and widens blood vessels, lowering blood pressure, easing the heart's workload and improving blood flow. It is also used after a heart attack and to reduce cardiovascular risk in people at high risk, and to protect the kidneys, especially in diabetes. Taken once daily, it is a cornerstone cardiovascular medicine for patients under medical care.

Ramipril 2.5mg per tablet.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily, at the same time each day, swallowed with water with or without food. The first dose may cause dizziness, so take it when you can sit or lie down, ideally at bedtime when starting. Do not stop suddenly, and attend reviews for blood pressure, kidney function and blood potassium.

Not for use in pregnancy. Stop and tell your doctor if you become pregnant. May cause a persistent dry cough, dizziness, raised potassium and reduced kidney function. Seek urgent care for swelling of the face, lips or throat or difficulty breathing (angioedema). Use caution with NSAIDs, potassium supplements, salt substitutes and in dehydration (e.g. with diarrhoea or vomiting). Tell your doctor about kidney problems and all other medicines.
