Overview
Vigamox 5mg/5ml Eye Drops from Alcon contain moxifloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, in a sterile eye drop for bacterial eye infections. Moxifloxacin tackles a broad range of bacteria that cause infections such as bacterial conjunctivitis (red, sticky 'pink eye'), clearing the infection and relieving the redness, discharge and discomfort. A useful feature is that Vigamox is preservative-free in its formulation, making it gentle on the eye's surface. A trusted, doctor-prescribed antibiotic eye drop for people with bacterial conjunctivitis and related eye infections.
Active: Moxifloxacin 0.5% (5mg/ml, as moxifloxacin hydrochloride).
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. Usually one drop into the affected eye three times daily for about 7 days, or as advised. Wash your hands, tilt your head back, pull down the lower lid and instil the drop without touching the dropper tip to the eye or skin. Blink gently and press the inner corner of the eye briefly. Complete the full course even once the eye looks better.
For use in the eye only. Do not wear contact lenses while you have an eye infection or during treatment. Tell your doctor if the infection does not improve within a few days or if redness, itching or swelling worsens, which could signal a reaction. Vision may blur briefly after instilling. Wait before driving. Discard the bottle after the period stated on the pack; do not share. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
