Xylocaine Pump Spray contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, sprayed onto the surface of the skin or mucous membranes to numb the area. It is used by healthcare professionals to provide surface (topical) numbing. For example before minor procedures in dentistry, ear, nose and throat work, and certain examinations. By temporarily blocking pain signals where it is applied. Each pump delivers a measured dose of lidocaine, giving quick, short-lasting local numbing. Directions for Use

This is used by or under the guidance of a healthcare professional. The spray is applied directly to the area to be numbed, using the number of pump sprays appropriate for the site, as directed. Numbness begins within a few minutes and wears off after a short time. Avoid spraying towards the throat in a way that could be inhaled, and do not exceed the maximum number of sprays advised.

Do not use if you are allergic to lidocaine or other local anaesthetics. Care is needed near the throat, as numbing can affect swallowing and increase the risk of choking.
