Overview

Zestoretic 20mg Tablets (28 pack) combine two blood-pressure medicines in one daily tablet. Lisinopril 20mg is an ACE inhibitor that relaxes and widens blood vessels, while hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg is a thiazide diuretic (water tablet) that helps the kidneys clear excess salt and water. Working together they lower high blood pressure more effectively than either alone, helping protect the heart, kidneys and blood vessels over time. A convenient combination for patients whose hypertension needs more than one medicine.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily, taken in the morning with or without food and with a glass of water. Take it at the same time each day; the first dose may cause dizziness, so take it when you can sit or lie down. Attend reviews for blood pressure, kidney function and blood salts, and do not stop suddenly.

Not for use in pregnancy. Stop and tell your doctor if you become pregnant. May cause a persistent dry cough, dizziness, raised or lowered potassium and reduced kidney function. Seek urgent care for swelling of the face, lips or throat or difficulty breathing (angioedema). Use caution with NSAIDs, potassium supplements, salt substitutes and in dehydration. Can affect blood sugar, uric acid (gout) and cholesterol. Use in breastfeeding only on medical advice. Store below 25°C protected from moisture.
