Overview
Zocef 500mg Tablets (10 pack) contain cefuroxime (as cefuroxime axetil), a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat a range of bacterial infections, including chest infections (bronchitis, pneumonia), throat and tonsil infections, sinus and ear infections, urinary tract infections, and skin and soft-tissue infections. Cefuroxime works by killing the bacteria causing the infection. A widely used, doctor-prescribed antibiotic helping people clear common bacterial infections. Confirm the active on the pack.

Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one 500mg tablet twice a day, swallowed whole with water, ideally after food for better absorption and to reduce stomach upset. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Complete the full course exactly as prescribed (often 7-10 days), even if you feel better sooner, to fully clear the infection and help prevent antibiotic resistance.
Tell your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics. Tell your doctor about kidney problems, as the dose may need adjusting, and about all other medicines. Report severe or watery/bloody diarrhoea, a spreading rash, or breathing difficulty/facial swelling promptly. Mild stomach upset or thrush can occur. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice.
