Overview

Otipax Ear Drops combine phenazone, a local anti-inflammatory, with lidocaine, a fast-acting local anaesthetic, to relieve the throbbing pain of acute middle-ear inflammation (otitis media with intact eardrum) and pressure-related ear pain. Dropped gently into the ear, the anaesthetic numbs pain within minutes while the anti-inflammatory calms the cause. Comforting children and adults through painful ear episodes.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Warm the bottle in your hands first. Cold drops hurt. Tilt the head, instil the prescribed drops (typically 3-4 drops up to 2-3 times daily) into the affected ear canal, and keep the head tilted briefly. Use for the short course advised. Discard the bottle after the period stated once opened.

STRICTLY for ears with an intact eardrum. Never use if there is discharge from the ear, a known or suspected perforated eardrum, or grommets, as inner-ear damage can result; when in doubt, have the ear examined first. Ear pain with fever, discharge, hearing loss or lasting beyond 1-2 days needs medical assessment. These drops relieve pain but do not treat bacterial infection.
