Overview

Nexpro 40mg Tablets (50 pack) from Torrent contain esomeprazole, a proton-pump inhibitor (PPI) that strongly reduces stomach acid. By switching off the acid 'pumps' in the stomach lining, esomeprazole relieves the burning of acid reflux and heartburn, helps heal inflammation of the food pipe (reflux oesophagitis) and stomach or duodenal ulcers, and is used alongside antibiotics to clear Helicobacter pylori infection. The 40mg strength is the higher healing dose. A trusted, effective acid-reducing medicine for people troubled by reflux, ulcers or persistent heartburn.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily, in the morning at least an hour before food, swallowed whole with water (do not crush or chew). For best effect take it consistently at the same time each day, and complete any course (such as ulcer or H. pylori treatment) in full even if symptoms ease early.

Tell your doctor if heartburn persists despite treatment, or if you have difficulty swallowing, unintended weight loss, black stools or vomiting. These need assessment. Long-term use can lower magnesium and vitamin B12 and slightly affect bone strength; your doctor will review continued use. May cause headache, wind or bowel changes. Tell your doctor about liver problems and other medicines. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice. Store below 30°C.
