Overview

Flatameal-DS Suspension is an anti-bloating and antacid medicine that relieves trapped wind, flatulence, fullness and indigestion. It contains simethicone (an anti-foaming agent) that breaks down trapped gas bubbles in the gut to ease bloating and abdominal discomfort, often alongside antacids to neutralise excess stomach acid. The double-strength (DS) suspension is helpful after meals or when bloating is troublesome. Supplied as a 200ml bottle.

Directions for Use

Shake the bottle well before use. Take the dose shown on the pack using the measuring cup or spoon, usually after meals and at bedtime, or as advised by your pharmacist. The suspension can be taken on its own. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Drinking water and eating slowly also help reduce trapped wind.

Generally well tolerated. If it contains antacids, separate it from certain medicines (such as some antibiotics and iron or thyroid tablets) by a couple of hours, as antacids can reduce their absorption. Seek advice if symptoms persist beyond two weeks, or with severe pain, vomiting or weight loss. Confirm exact ingredients on the pack. Store below 30°C.
