Overview

Cortin Nasal Spray (triamcinolone acetonide) is a prescription corticosteroid nasal spray used to relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (hay fever and year-round nasal allergies), such as a blocked, runny or itchy nose and sneezing. It works by reducing inflammation in the nasal passages, easing congestion and improving nasal airflow. Used once daily, it helps adults and children with allergic nasal symptoms; it is not intended for the common cold (10ml/100 doses).

Directions for Use

This is a prescription/pharmacist medicine. Use as directed. Shake well before use and prime the pump if new or unused for a while. For adults and children over 2 (or as advised), the usual dose is 1-2 sprays into each nostril once daily. Aim slightly away from the central nasal wall. Use regularly, as it may take a few days to work fully; do not exceed the recommended dose.

For nasal use only. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed, especially in children, as long-term nasal steroids can rarely affect growth or cause nasal effects. Tell your doctor if you have or recently had a nasal infection, injury or surgery, glaucoma or cataracts. Seek advice for repeated nosebleeds, persistent nasal irritation or vision changes.
