Overview

Cosvate-GM Cream (15g) is a combination skin cream that treats inflamed skin infections involving both bacteria and fungus. It contains clobetasol (a potent corticosteroid) to calm redness, itching and inflammation, gentamicin (an antibiotic) to tackle bacterial infection, and miconazole (an antifungal) to treat fungal infection. It is used for itchy, inflamed skin rashes complicated by infection, such as certain types of eczema or dermatitis with secondary infection. A doctor-prescribed cream helping people treat troublesome infected, inflamed skin. Confirm the actives on the pack.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. Wash and dry your hands and the affected area, then apply a thin layer to the affected skin, usually twice a day, for the short course your doctor advises (potent steroid creams are not for long-term use). Wash your hands after applying (unless treating the hands). Do not cover with airtight dressings unless told to, and do not use on the face or large areas unless specifically directed.

Because it contains a potent steroid, do not use for longer than prescribed or on the face, groin or broken skin unless your doctor directs, as overuse can thin the skin. Do not use on untreated/unsuitable infections (e.g. cold sores, chickenpox, acne or rosacea). Stop and seek advice if the skin worsens, stings persistently, or a rash spreads. Tell your doctor if there is no improvement in 1-2 weeks. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice. Store below 30°C.
