Overview

Terbifin 250mg Tablets contain terbinafine, an oral antifungal medicine used for fungal infections that creams cannot reach or clear. Especially fungal nail infections (onychomycosis), ringworm of the scalp, and extensive or stubborn skin infections like widespread ringworm or athlete's foot. Taken once daily, terbinafine travels through the bloodstream into skin, hair and nails, killing the fungus where it lives. Because nails grow slowly, courses run from 6 weeks (fingernails) to 12 weeks or more (toenails). Terbifin offers people an effective oral solution for thickened, discoloured fungal nails (14 tablets).

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. The usual adult dose is one 250mg tablet once daily, with or without food, at the same time each day. Typical courses: 2-6 weeks for skin infections, about 6 weeks for fingernail infections and 12 weeks for toenail infections. Complete the full course. The visible nail improves slowly as healthy nail grows out over months after treatment.

Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease. Liver function may be checked before and during treatment; stop and seek advice immediately for nausea with dark urine, pale stools, jaundice or unusual tiredness. Report any loss or alteration of taste or smell, which can rarely occur and usually recovers after stopping. Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding unless essential. May interact with certain antidepressants, beta-blockers and tamoxifen. Tell your doctor everything you take. Avoid excessive alcohol. Store below 30°C.
