Verorab Vaccine 0.5ml is a purified inactivated rabies vaccine from Sanofi, given to prevent rabies. A virtually always-fatal disease once symptoms appear. It is used both before exposure (for travellers and at-risk workers) and, critically, after a possible rabies exposure such as a bite or scratch from a suspect animal, as part of urgent post-exposure treatment. This medicine is administered under specialist medical supervision only.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Dosage is determined by your prescribing doctor based on your individual needs. Do not adjust your dose without medical supervision. Administered by a healthcare professional by injection according to the appropriate schedule. A multi-dose course over several weeks. After a possible exposure, the full schedule must be completed exactly on time, often alongside wound care and rabies immunoglobulin as the doctor directs. Do not miss or delay doses. After any possible rabies exposure (bite, scratch or saliva contact from a suspect animal), seek medical care IMMEDIATELY. Wash the wound thoroughly with soap and water for 15 minutes and start post-exposure treatment without delay; rabies is preventable with prompt vaccination but almost always fatal once symptoms begin. Complete the entire vaccine course on schedule. Tell the clinician about allergies, immune-weakening conditions or medicines, and pregnancy (post-exposure vaccination is still given.
