Overview

Nugrel A Plus Capsules (30 pack) combine clopidogrel, an antiplatelet medicine, with aspirin (the 'A'). Dual antiplatelet therapy to help prevent dangerous blood clots. Used after heart attacks, stents and certain strokes, the two medicines work in different ways to stop platelets clumping, reducing the risk of clot-driven heart attacks and strokes during the period your doctor specifies.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one capsule once daily, with food to protect the stomach, at a consistent time. Take it regularly for exactly the period your doctor specifies. Especially after a stent, where stopping early risks a dangerous clot. Do not stop either component without medical advice. Confirm the strengths on your pack.

Dual antiplatelet therapy increases bleeding risk more than a single agent. Report unusual or prolonged bleeding, bruising, black stools or vomiting blood, and tell every doctor and dentist you take it before any procedure or surgery (any pause is planned, never abrupt). The aspirin component is not for those with active ulcers, aspirin/NSAID allergy or certain bleeding conditions. Use caution with other blood thinners and NSAIDs. Some acid-reducing medicines (omeprazole/esomeprazole) can reduce clopidogrel's effect. Tell your doctor about all medicines.
