Orelox 40mg/5ml Suspension (100ml) contains cefpodoxime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic in a child-friendly liquid. Cefpodoxime clears a range of bacterial infections by destroying the cell walls of susceptible bacteria. Treating infections of the chest and airways, ear, throat, sinuses and urinary tract in children. The ready-to-take suspension allows accurate, weight-based dosing and is easier for young children than tablets. A trusted, doctor-prescribed antibiotic helping children recover from common bacterial infections.

Active: Cefpodoxime proxetil equivalent to cefpodoxime 40mg per 5ml. Suspension base with flavouring.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Give only as directed by your doctor. The dose depends on the child's weight, usually twice daily (about 12 hours apart), with food to aid absorption, for the number of days prescribed. Shake the bottle well and measure each dose with the syringe or cup provided. Complete the full course even if the child seems better, to clear the infection fully and help prevent antibiotic resistance. Follow storage advice for the made-up suspension.

Tell your doctor about any allergy to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics before use. The most common effects are diarrhoea, nausea or stomach upset; seek advice for severe or watery/bloody diarrhoea. Tell your doctor about kidney problems. Once reconstituted, store as the label directs (often refrigerated) and discard after the stated period. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice.
