Overview
Determine HIV Test Kits are rapid tests used to detect HIV antibodies (and, in some versions, antigen) in a small blood sample, giving a result within minutes. They provide a quick, confidential way to screen for HIV as part of routine testing, before starting PrEP, or after a possible exposure. HIV testing is a normal, responsible part of looking after your health. Knowing your status early means you can access care and treatment promptly. (Service charge covers the testing service.)
Directions for Use
This test should be performed by a trained healthcare worker, who will take a small finger-prick blood sample, apply it to the test device with the buffer, and read the result within the stated time. Follow the testing service's guidance. Whatever the result, your healthcare provider will explain what it means and the next steps.
A single rapid test is a screening test. A reactive (positive) result must always be confirmed with further testing, and a negative result may need repeating if there was a recent possible exposure (the 'window period'). Always discuss your result with a healthcare provider. If you have questions about HIV testing or treatment, speak confidentially with a healthcare provider or contact a local health clinic. Handle blood samples and used devices safely as clinical waste. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Keep out of reach of children.
Not applicable. This is an in-vitro diagnostic HIV test device. No active pharmaceutical ingredients.
