Slow-K (Tardus K) 600mg Tablets (30 pack) contain potassium chloride 600mg in a slow-release form. A potassium supplement used to prevent or treat low blood potassium (hypokalaemia), which can occur with certain diuretics, fluid losses or other causes. Maintaining adequate potassium is essential for normal heart rhythm, muscle and nerve function. The slow-release design reduces stomach irritation.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take exactly as prescribed, swallowing the tablets whole with a full glass of water, with or after food. Do not crush, chew or suck the slow-release tablets, and stay upright for a while after taking. The dose is set by your doctor based on your blood potassium level.

Take exactly as prescribed and attend blood tests. Both low and high potassium are dangerous, and too much potassium can cause serious heart-rhythm problems. Swallow whole with plenty of water and remain upright afterward to avoid throat or stomach irritation. Not for use in significant kidney impairment or with certain medicines that raise potassium (such as some blood pressure drugs and potassium-sparing diuretics) without close monitoring. Report muscle weakness, tingling, palpitations or severe stomach pain. Tell your doctor about all medicines.
