Directions for Use

Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Commonly one tablet (5mg) once daily, swallowed with water, with or without food. For pregnancy planning, it is ideally started before conception and continued through the early weeks as advised. For anaemia or other uses, take it for the full period your doctor recommends. Take it at the same time each day to help you remember.

Generally very safe and well tolerated. Tell your doctor if you have pernicious anaemia or an undiagnosed anaemia, as folic acid alone can mask a vitamin B12 deficiency that needs separate treatment.
