Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine, given as an injection into a muscle by a doctor or nurse. You do not give it yourself. The dose and schedule are set by your doctor: deficiency is usually treated with several injections over a couple of weeks, then maintenance injections every few months for long-term cases. Attend your appointments so doses are given on time, and have your blood levels checked as advised.

Given by a healthcare professional, who will confirm the diagnosis first, as B12 treatment can mask other anaemias. Tell your doctor about any previous reaction to hydroxocobalamin or cobalt. Mild injection-site soreness, or rarely an allergic reaction, can occur and will be monitored. Do not stop long-term maintenance injections without advice, as deficiency and nerve damage can return. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
