Overview

Dermazine Cream (250g) contains silver sulfadiazine, an antibacterial cream used mainly to prevent and treat infection in burns and wounds. Applied to the affected skin, it forms a protective antibacterial layer that helps stop bacteria growing in burns, scalds, and certain wounds and skin ulcers, supporting cleaner healing. It is widely used in burns care. A doctor- or nurse-guided treatment helping patients protect burns and wounds from infection. Confirm the active on the pack.

Directions for Use

Use as directed by your doctor or nurse. Clean the burn or wound as advised, then, wearing clean gloves or using a sterile applicator, spread a layer of cream (about 3-5mm thick) over the affected area, and cover with a dressing if advised. It is usually applied once or twice daily, with the area cleaned between applications. Continue for the period your healthcare provider recommends.

For external use on the skin. Do not use if you are allergic to sulfa medicines (sulfonamides), and use with caution in pregnancy, breastfeeding and in newborns. Seek medical advice. Tell your doctor about kidney or liver problems or large burn areas, as more of the medicine can be absorbed. Stop and seek advice if a rash, worsening redness or signs of a reaction occur.
